Review by Tenzys Tech
CPU of Dimensity 1200 is clocked up to 3.0 GHz with updated Cortex A78 cores while Kirin 9000 is clocked up to 3.13 GHz with Cortex A77 older cores which makes MediaTek’s Dimesnity 1200 a better chipset than Hisilicon Kirin 9000.
MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is equipped with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU with only 9 cores and 7nm fabrication while the Kirin 9000 is equipped with Mali-G78 MP24 with enough 24 cores and 5nm fabrication. So Frankly, Mali-G78 MP24 is a much better GPU than Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. Also Read: Snapdragon 780G vs Snapdragon 768G
The memory frequency of Dimensity 1200 is 4266 MHz while in Kirin 9000 it is 2750 MHz. But the memory type of Dimensity 1200 is LPDDR4x while the memory type of Kirin 9000 is LPDDR5 which means memory speed is better in Dimensity 1200 while the energy efficiency of memory is better in Kirin 9000.
In-display section, Dimensity 1200 supports display up to 2520 x 1080 resolution with 168Hz refresh rate while display resolution in Kirin 9000 supports up to 3840 x 2160 with 144 Hz refresh rate only. So there is a tough competition between the screen comparison between Dimensity 1200 vs Kirin 9000. So, it’s up to you which one you can prefer. Let us know in the comment box which one you can prefer.
Energy efficiency and battery life
As the facts are seen by the technical specifications of both the SoCs, the Kirin 9000 is built on 5nm process technology while on other hand Dimensity 1200 is built on 6nm technology. This concludes that Hisilicon Kirin 9000 is better than Dimensity 1200 as the small size semiconductor indicates the more no. of transistors embedded in SOC (System On Chip) which is not only energy efficient but also significantly enhances the performance of the chipset.
MediaTek Dimensity 1200
Overall a good chipset in a flagship series.
Hisilicon Kirin 9000
The best flagship performer by Huawei till 2021.
