The CPU specifications of both the chipsets are the same so both chipsets have equal capabilities in terms of CPU power.
GPU
Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G is equipped with Adreno 642 GPU while the snapdragon 778G is equipped with Adreno 642L. Frankly, Adreno 642 is a slightly better GPU than Adreno 642L. Also Read: Snapdragon 888 vs Snapdragon 778G
Memory
The maximum memory supported by Snapdragon 780G is 12 GB with the frequency of 2133 MHz while Snapdragon 778G supports up to 16 GB with the frequency of 3200 MHz, making Snapdragon 778G a superior one in this segment.

In display Section, both the SOCs comprised of resolution of 3360 x 1600 with 144 Hz refresh rate compatibility.
Energy efficiency and battery life
There are some facts that are extracted out from the specifications in which Snapdragon 780G built on 5nm process technology while Snapdragon 778G built on 6nm technology. However, the TDP of SD 778G is not known till now. But we can conclude that Snapdragon 780G has more transistors as compared to Snapdragon 778G. So, Snapdragon 780G has better energy efficiency.
