New Delhi: A major technical issue involving US tech giant Microsoft and American cybersecurity company Crowdstrike disrupted services globally today. Millions of Microsoft Windows users encountered the “Blue Screen of Death” error, causing their computers to shut down or restart.
Microsoft has identified the preliminary cause as a “configuration change” in its Azure backend workloads. This change led to interruptions between storage and compute resources, resulting in connectivity failures that impacted Microsoft 365 services dependent on these connections.
In an update on X, Microsoft stated, “Our services are seeing continuous improvements as we work on mitigation actions.”
